Basenji's range in price up to a few thousand dollars (USD). If you are purchasing from a breeder, please prepare yourself to spend anywhere between $1500 - $2000 USD. The most expensive I have seen for a Basenji puppy is $3000 USD. If you are rescuing a Basenji, please expect to pay up to a few hundred dollars (USD) to support the cost of the shots and wellness the animal received as well as to support the sustainability of the rescue center.
Purchasing from a Breeder
A list of Basenji breeders is available via the American Kennel Club Basenji page.

The breeders have puppies and sometimes adult Basenji dogs available for purchase. They usually come with a range of shots and health checks like tests for Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and Fanconi's Syndrome, Paradoxic glucosuria. In addition, most of the breeders add information about whether they microchip or not.
Purchasing from a rescue
I have only seen a few rescues listed in the United States and the websites aren't always kept updated; however, please see them below and good luck! I hope you can find an amazing new furry friend.
Here are a few:

Purchasing from anywhere else
I was fortunate enough to adopt Thor through an accidental litter in my area. He only cost a $100 adoption fee to cover some of the costs of his earliest shots and I was able to take him home at 8 weeks old.
I also have periodically scanned sites like craigslist for Basenjis and would not recommend this route for purchasing animals.
When I was younger and dumber I explored here and paid $50 to rescue a tiny pinscher/Basenji mix (or at least that's what the ad claimed). The poor dog had parvo and I worked with my local emergency vet clinic to humanely euthanize the poor dog Max because he was too far gone to be rescued.
And that is how I learned to always purchase through the humane society or a reputable breeder. Places where the Basenji's receive their appropriate shots, spay/neutering, and wellness checks as needed to stay healthy.
